The first Bangkok-Vientiane-Huaihua international road-railway intermodal cold-chain freight train of 2025 arrived at the Huaihua International Land Port early in the morning of January 4. The loaded fruits including longans from Thailand and bananas from Laos, weighing 950 tonnes in total, will be distributed to Huaihua, Changsha, and Yueyang.
Delivered from the plantations in Thailand and Laos, these fruits were transported to Vientiane by road, and transferred to Huaihua by China-Laos freight train. "Forty-three 40FT refrigerated containers were delivered from Thailand, arriving in Huaihua in only 5 days. The logistics cost shrank sharply," said the general manager of the cold-chain logistics company.
Huaihua has accelerated its pace to build an ASEAN-oriented freight service center, while constructing a new comprehensive cold-chain logistics network which integrates international intermodal transport, inter-provincial transfer, regional distribution, and delivery in rural Areas. It dovetails with the demands of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and ASEAN countries, while continuously expanding the fresh agricultural product business from Wuling Mountain area to five provinces in southwestern regions of China and beyond.
