1月5日，岳阳市屈原管理区东古湖湿地，6000多只小天鹅在湖面悠然游弋，时而低头觅食，时而整理羽毛，时而翩翩起舞，时而掠水低飞，鸟鸣声此起彼伏，好不热闹。

近几年，东古湖湿地加强日常管理和维护，栽植湿地植物，改善生态环境，不仅为小天鹅、白琵鹭等冬候鸟提供了安全舒适的越冬环境，也为它们创造了良好的生存和繁衍条件，前来越冬的候鸟数量越来越多。（来源：新湖南）
