China’s domestic tourism showed robust growth in 2025, with total trips reaching 6.522 billion, a 16.2% year-on-year increase, according to data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Rural residents led the surge, with travel spending jumping 21.4% to 1 trillion Yuan. Urban travel expenditure rose 7.5% to 5.3 trillion yuan.
